S&A have been crafting stairs for 100 years. In that time, we have become synonymous with consistency, quality, and style.
Throughout the last century, our stairs have helped to shape many of Australia’s greatest architectural homes and suburbs.
Our projects strive for progression and innovation, in a process that finds a balance between design, craft, and technology.
Founded on principles of trust and integrity, we hold long standing relationships with many of Australia’s largest and most well-respected builders and architects. Ten of these partnerships have surpassed 50 years.
As a family business, we encourage our staff (180 across four states in Australia) to grow and progress over generations. Today, we count more than 30 staff with more than 20 years of service.

With more than 20 Years experience at the helm of S&A Stairs, Tom Acquroff is an encyclopedia of staircase knowledge and manufacturing. Tom has excellent strategic vision and a passion for creating quality products at scale. Steering our operations Nationally, he leads a team of highly skilled specialists, creating a reputation for making very complicated products consistently best in class, at scale. More importantly, Tom is a true culture leader at S&A Stairs – ensuring we continually build on our values of personal responsibility, building the best products, respect and family tradition.
Joel Acquroff
Director
With a diverse background and more than 10 Years as head of Sales & Marketing Nationally, Joel has built an incredible network of partners. Along with managing key partners and relationships, Joel drive’s the business development at S&A as well as new technology and systems. Over the last decade, he has overseen our progression from a Victorian based stair builder, to the largest stair builder in the country, supplying 15 of 20 of Australia’s largest builders.
We are grounded by design and quality principles – not pinned down by trends and fads.
Each S&A project is carefully planned from the design phase, so that the end product reflects the needs of the consumer, and finds a balance between elements of design and construction.
Since power tools replaced the humble hand, we have been searching for new technology to compliment our craft.
Today, we use the latest European software and sophisticated CNC machinery to enhance quality and efficiency.
